Wurlitzer Jukebox
A Wurlitzer Jukebox would be a nice upgrade to a home game room and it’s the type of juke box that would make the whole family excited.
Now some people may argue that a wireless surround system would sound good in a home game room, probably better than a jukebox. But there is just something special about Wurlitzer Jukeboxes that brings the whole game room atmosphere together.
Wurlitzer Jukeboxes
Now the design of a jukebox has takes on many sizes, shapes and colors but is seems one model has become symbolic of the classic style jukeboxes and that is the Wurlitzer Bubbler. The name is given because actual air bubbles float up through shimmering water tubes along its sides.
A Wurlitzer jukebox of any year is a pretty good investment for a game room because of the style and quality they have. And you have a selection of 78 record playing Wurlitzer’s, 45 record Wurlitzer’s, CD Wurlitzer Juke Boxes, Digital Jukeboxes and Ipod Jukeboxes. And depending on the year and model they can play anywhere from 20 songs up to thousands of sounds in digital format.
For example Digital and iPod Wurlitzer juke boxes work like MP 3 players on personal computers. They run a very basic operating system designed for, music playback with the option of 1000s of songs.
For iPod jukeboxes, an iPod is linked to the jukebox with a docking station. And the IPod is used normal except it’s in a full sized Wurlitzer Jukebox. Also with IPod jukeboxes you can add to your song collection at any time by downloading new songs just like the digital jukeboxes can do.
Other Jukeboxes
Sizes, and Cost
As mentioned earlier Wurlitzer Jukeboxes come in various sizes and at different prices. But if you don’t find one you like there are many other neat brands out there. For example the Goodtime Jukebox with iPod Dock 44.5"hx24.75"w Brick Red priced around $3000, and the TYRELL Juke master Tabletop - 100 CD Jukebox priced at $180, etc. So you have your choices both big and small.
In fact you can also find some used Jukeboxes for your game room at reasonable prices. There are some full sized jukeboxes for instance like the Rowe CD 100 model C I’ve seen priced around $1,600.00.
Likewise there are many more models available with both higher and lower prices. It all depends on the year and condition of the Juke Box as to how much you’ll pay.
Checking Ebay and Craigslist is a good place to start. And use Ebay’s completed auction feature to see what they’ve sold for.
I believe that if you purchase a Wurlitzer jukebox you and your family will be happy with how it looks and plays. Of course remember to always check out reviews of products and do your research as Rowe and Rock Ola are also great name brands.
