Tiki Theme Paradise In Your Home!

It’s not a good idea to go out and buy every piece of tiki decor you can find before you have the basic essentials. You can have too much of a good thing and it’ll turn your tiki theme room into the tiki room from hell So totally tiki doesn’t mean every single inch of your room, it means every other inch with space to move and enjoy the room you’ve created.

The Tiki Bar

For any Tiki Theme the Tiki Bar is a must. It doesn’t have to be this huge tiki bar taking up half your basement. All you need is a cheap tiki bar with two bar stools in front and a sign that says “The Tiki Bar Is Open” in the corner of your room. Add a few colorful lights or string lights around the bar and you tiki room is off to a great start.

Tiki Party Decorations

Yes they may seem cheesy at first but they’re a cheap way to get your tiki room headed in the right direction. Found at just about every “Party Store” tiki party decorations consist of tiki string lights, lanterns, cardboard signs, palm trees, shot glasses, cardboard masks and more. Not the cups and glasses for a birthday party though. Anyway these cheaper tiki party decorations are great fillers for spaces that won’t fit larger tiki decorations, signs and more. Don’t go overboard but picking up a few of the things above will help get things started in your room.

Tiki Lamps

From Tiki Totem Lamps to the larger Tiki Floor Lamps, two or three of these will help set the mood your looking for, especially the tiki totem lamps. Although not the biggest they’re great for decorating your room. The floor lamps are more functional than the totem lamps but the totem lamps definitely give your room atmosphere.

Tiki Hut

Now this is a decoration where you need to think outside the box. A tiki hut isn’t something you can easily put into your basement, they’re too big. But a great idea would be to either turn your whole game room into a “Tiki Hut” or maybe just a sitting area.

With bamboo poles and or bamboo reed fencing you can create a tiki hut in your basement. It’s imitation of course but it’s the look and feel you’re going for. Actually the bamboo reed fencing could be added around the whole room then you’d get a tiki hut feeling. But on a smaller scale a simple sitting space could have the fencing around it and then use silk leaves or something similar found at an arts/crafts store for the angled roof look. It won’t be on the whole ceiling just coming down on an angle from the top of the bamboo reed fencing like an overhang of one foot.
