One of the coolest things you can do to a home game room, home office, kids room etc. is to paint your room in your favorite teams colors. That doesn’t mean it’s going to look tacky or too bright or even too dark because there are some simply ways to add team colours that make a room look amazing.

Of course the easiest way to go about adding your team colors to your home game room etc. is to just go with a solid color, no stripes, to designs, just simple and solid.

Does that sound boring to you? Well if it does don’t worry because painting a room a solid color that is one of your team colors can really make a room look stylish and nice especially when you start hanging your team decor and memorabilia around the room.

The trick is to choose the lightest color to keep the room looking bright especially if the room is in the basement with limited natural light. So if your team colors are those of the Pittsburgh Steelers then you can choose from Black, Gold and White. So realistically the best two for solid colors would be gold or white. And when you add your fatheads, neon signs, Steelers Posters, Memorabilia etc. to the walls your plain gold or white walls will look awesome as a the base team color for all your team decor.

Paint Two Tone For A Cool Look

Two Tone Painted Rooms Look Awesome! Are they simple to do? Yes They Are! You don’t need to get all detailed with a two tone to make it look nice, a simple two tone room will look great on its own especially when you add your team memorabilia and decor to the walls, floors and more.

When you go two tone you want to choose two colors from your favorite team. Staying with the Pittsburgh Steelers Team Colors of Black, Gold and White you’d choose two. Say you want black and gold, then here are a few ways to paint two tones that’ll look nice.

First you can paint the top trim of one to two feet down the darker color and in this case it would be black. Then paint the rest of the walls gold. This way you get their two main colors in your room for a great theme atmosphere. Of course you can go half and half, top half gold, bottom half black or have it white and gold etc. But a dark top trim works nice.

Another way is to paint a fat horizontal stripe around the room separating the top half and bottom half of the room. Depending on the height of your wall a 1 foot to two foot stripe around the room would be a fun way to paint also.

Two Tone Painting is fun because it’s simple, you paint one color, tape off a line to separate the two colors and paint your next colors, it’s really that simple Just make sure your tape job is nice and straight around the room.

With an Accent Wall

A third way to go about paint your room in your favorite team colors with by simply adding an accent wall to the mix.

Just like a solid room color you’d paint all your walls one solid team color except for one wall. On one wall you’d make it one of your team’s other colors. So if you go with gold for the Steelers main color then you’d paint one wall Black. On that wall you could add your flat screen TV or neon signs, posters etc. for them to stand out on your Accent Wall. Yes it’s simple but it adds another dimension of fun to your room with team colours that’ll look great.

The above ideas are simple ideas but still make the room look really nice. Of course you can go more elaborate with painting team logos and team names around the room. You could add stripes either horizontal or vertical, checker board walls of your team colors and so much more.
