If you have a dedicated Poker Room or Poker Area then Poker Table Lights are a must. You just need to decide what size you need and what you want them to look like because there are tons of poker table lights and lamps to choose from and they’re all cool looking.

But before I get into the various lights you can choose from it's important to know where and how you're going to hang your lights, unless you use standing lamps of course. They can be placed just about anywhere.

Two important things to remember if you’re going to add hanging poker lights. Make sure the area to hang them is above your poker table and that it’s a dedicated poker or sitting area. You don’t want to have to move your lighting around if you decide to move your poker table to the other side of the room next year.

And two, choose the correct size for your table. You don’t need a 40 inch poker table light when a 16 inch light will do. That also goes with the size of your basement. Having too large a light no matter how neat it looks will be overkill in a small home game room or poker room.

So What Are Your Choices?

The two most popular types of hanging poker lights are the 16 inch round hanging lights and the 40” long oval hanging lights. For most poker rooms the 16 inch round lamps are the way to go. They hang nicely above your poker table and give adequate lighting for playing cards. The 40 inch long lights are good for larger poker tables and for above billiard tables.

When it comes to styles the sky is the limit. From your favorite sports teams in stained glass designs to favorite drinks, companies, slogans and more you have choices. You can even have them customized at some stores. Or you can go simple tiffany styled lamps

Buy my favorite by far for poker rooms or poker table areas are the poker table lights that have a poker theme to them. From stained glass with a royal flush hand on it to hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades designs on them. Keeping within the poker theme is fun and really neat. Yes you can find your favorite sports teams lights for hanging above your poker table but unless you’re a diehard fan, keeping it poker specific will really make for a better looking poker room.

And there are also floor lamps and bar top table lamps all in poker themes if you need one in an area where it’s impossible to hang a poker light. Those are always a nice option and will still keep your room in a cool poker theme.
