Beer Battered Onion Rings
One favorite party snack food is good ole beer battered onion rings, The kind that granny used to make. Can’t you smell them already! Here is a simple party snack recipe that has all the yum and more.
Beer battered Onion Rings – What You’ll Need.
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Oil for deep frying
12 ounces of beer
3 to 4 large onions
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
Start by mixing the flour, salt, pepper, oil and eggs together in a large bowl. Next pour in the beer and whisk until completely lump free in a nice mixture. Next simply peel the onions and carefully slice them into about 3/8" thick rounds or your desired thickness. Now separate the rings and dip the rings in the batter and shake off any excess batter.
Next very carefully fry batches in hot oil at 375 degrees until golden brown, usually about 2 to 3 minutes. Of course do not touch the oil with your hands or you will be severely burned. Now turn and continue frying for another minute or two, until both sides are golden brown. Remove with tongs etc. and drain on paper towels. Salt to taste. Serve and enjoy.
Original Chex Party Mix – What You’ll Need.
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
3 cups Corn Chex cereal
2 T Worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup pretzels
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
6 Tablespoons Butter
Start by heating your oven to 250 degrees. Next Mix Your Cereals Together in a bowl and leave it for later. Now melt butter in a large roasting pan in the oven. Next you stir in the seasonings. Then gradually stir in the remaining ingredients until evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Serve and enjoy.
