The Best Way To SAVE For Your Next Home Purchase
Is To Open Online Savings Accounts !

When first designing a home game room or doing a game room makeover don't get caught up in the "Need Everything To Complete It Now" mentality.

Some games and decorations are just too expensive to buy all at once so you need to find a place to get good yet cheap game room items and create a budget to save for the things you want most!

Of course finding a cheap yet great place to purchase game room items is a good idea but saving money for future purchases is even a better idea.

Did you know that you can Open Online Savings Accounts, earn 5% on your money and still have instant access to that money in case of emergency! That is a great way to save for your next game room or even home purchase.

Just below you'll find ideas on great places to find discounted game room games and decorations. These places will help you stretch your dollar while increasing the fun stuff in your home!

And here's a site that has some great money saving tips and this site explains how to open online savings accounts how they work and what's involved.

There are various ways to budget and cut costs right in your own home. Then you save that money, open an online savings account, earn a 4% to 6% interest rate and down the line purchase your favorite games or decorations.

And after you've saved some money below are a few places you can find games and decorations at discounted prices.

Make Your Own Decorations

One of the best ways to budget your game room is to make some of the decorations yourself. There are MANY different websites out there explaining how to make cool decorations and more.

One example of decorating that many never consider is making your own posters or pictures and framing them. For example if you’re doing a Hawaiian theme and you have some coconuts around from your last trip, just take a high pixel digital photo of them, print them out in sizes 8x10 or larger and frame them then hang them up. It’s simple enough especially if you combine that idea with the following shopping ideas below. Places to find discounted or inexpensive frames and so on…

SECOND HAND STORES

I’ve found that a good place to start looking for interesting/hard to find decorations and cheap items for your game room is at a local thrift store. And they're always fun to visit because you never know what you’re going to find. A cool pub sign, neon light, pub chairs and usually more.

Yes you can go to a local game decor store or dept. store and find many signs and such for your room but many of those signs are cheap plastic and just don’t look authentic. I’ve found that at thrift stores you can find some great original items. Personally I’ve picked up Various Pub signs like Guinness signs made of wood. I’ve also found many other neat decorations that would be awesome in anyone’s game room.

Remember you don’t have to skip over the items that look a little too old and worn out. You can always paint them to match the color of your game room and give them new life. I've found this an excellent way to build up a game room and save money.

And just because these items are usually used that won't make your game room look bad. On the contrary it actually makes our game room look more authentic, more welcoming and that much more enjoyable. Plus you won't be as mad if something gets broke or ruined during a New Years Eve Party! Think about it, if someone spilled something on your expensive piece of furniture or broke one of your glasses and you spent 100s on it, you’d be a little upset I’m sure. But if you bought it second hand you surely wouldn’t be as upset and the evening would go on without a hitch.

Now add flea markets and rummage sales to your decor treasure hunting and you’ll find more than what you’ll need to make your game room top notch. The reason I pick thrift stores as a #1 place to shop is because they usually have a good turnover of items. Now don’t get me wrong if you just hate putting second hand items in your home there are many other alternative ways to go about filling up your game room.

DOLLAR STORES

By all means check out your local dollar store like Dollar Tree or Dollar General. You won’t find anything expensive there like signs or furniture but you can find some neat decorative bar glasses and dishes. Also you can usually find many other interesting decorations and even decks of cards for the poker table.

At dollar stores there are so many items there that could fit in any game that they're too numerous to even mention. Your best bet is to take a half hour and stop by your local store and check it out. Dollar stores are especially good for getting stuff to spice up any party you plan to have, from fun decorations to chips, snacks, drinks and yes much more.

If you’ve been there before then you know how much good stuff they have but if you’ve never been there you’ll be amazed at how many things they actually have and how many of them would fit into your game room. I’ve been to some other local dollar stores that weren’t a chain and they were ok but really didn’t have the selection that the bigger chain dollar stores had. So if you have a chain dollar store in your area it's always fun to see what cool stuff they have in stock.

DISCOUNT CLOSEOUT STORES

The next logical place to look would be at a store like Big Lots, a discount closeout store. For those of you who don’t know, Big Lots is a discount closeout store, which acquires items from top name stores that are going out of business or have overstock and sell those items at a discount. From furniture to bar signs to decorations for a luau party they usually have items that will fit into any game room.

ONLINE SHOPPING

Next I suggest checking out the internet. Various auction sites are a great source of cool, theme and hard to find decorations. For example Yahoo Auctions and Ebay have thousands of items you can bid on. A down point is that you don’t get to see items first hand and it may not quite be the color or style you wanted. But you can find almost anything to match the theme of your game room on internet auction sites. And you never know what great deal will be added tomorrow.

Staying with the internet, one other great place where I love to search for discount items is at Overstock.com. It's similar to Big Lots but it's all online!

OPEN ONLINE SAVINGS ACCOUNTS

Yes there are many different places to find cool stuff for your game room when you have a budget. But as I said on the top of this page, not everyone can afford it all at once and that doesn't matter. A good way to build up your savings is by opening an online savings account. If you want to find out more about Opening Online Savings Accounts and some money saving tips here is a good place to start – Information On Opening Online Savings Accounts.

I hope you now have some great ideas as to where to start when designing, decorating and saving for your game room makeover. But remember you must SHOP WITH A PLAN. Make sure you know what theme you’re going for otherwise you’ll probably end up with many great items that look great individually but together look cluttered.
