Masterpiece Board Game

The Masterpiece Board Game is a classic board game and still to this day can be a lot of fun. It came out in 1970 by Parker Brothers and was very popular in its day. It can still be found at some stores and definitely online on sites like Ebay and if you’re into games that require a little bluffing and negotiation then this game would be a great addition to your home game room.

It’s always fun to get away from the video games anyway and teach the kids the games you knew as a child growing up!

In my opinion Masterpiece is a classic fun game and although it’s not for the youngest of kids, it’s family fun at it’s best for kids from the age of 12 on up to adults. You can either buy the classic game found at garage sales, second hand stores and of course Ebay or the newest reprints from 1996. Personally I like the classic version, just something about the look and feel of it.

Basically 3 to 6 players can play the game and the object is to collect as much art as possible and whoever has the collection that’s worth the most wins in the end.

But in order to collect the art pieces you must bid on the paintings and as the game progresses you can trade these pieces of art to other players and then if lucky sell them back to the bank for big bucks! And again there is bluffing and negotiation involved so be ready to put on a poker face or you’ll end up making some bad deals.

So beware there are fakes in the mix and those are worth nothing and you want to get rid of those as do your opponents so be careful as you may trade for or purchase a forgery.

All in all Masterpiece may not be the best game in your board game collection but it’s a great game to have in your home game room even if only played on occasion, it’s great classic board game fun!
