With Home Theatre Designs the sky is the limit. Or at least your room size is the limit but that doesn’t limit your imagination.

There are a number of different Home Theater Designs you can come up with and each will probably look great in your room. You just need to decide on what components you’d like to add from the entire Home Theatre System to your Home Theatre Seating.

Ideas for Home Theatre Designs

As I was mentioning above there are a variety of ideas for home theatre designs you can use, from the lighting to the seating and everything in between. Here are a few ideas that you may need to incorporate or at least give thought to when coming up with a great design for your home theater area or room in your home.

Home Theatre Seating – For large rooms you can use recliner movie chairs, if too expensive simple comfortable recliners are nice.

If you have a small home theatre area I’d skip on the chairs and go straight for a nice couch that may or may not have added recliners. An L couch would be nice if it looks right in your viewing area..

For even more casual home theater areas bean bags and bean bag chairs are nice alternative especially if the kids will be viewing their movies in there.

Home Theater Lighting – Here you can go in hundreds of directions. Wall Sconces are a nice addition to any light style you choose whether canister lights in the ceiling or table lamps for cozy rooms. Although with canister lights you can use a dimmer switch and give your room a more movie theater like atmosphere.

Adding decorative exit signs that light up are a fun touch also.

Home Theater TV – Here you’ll need a large TV. And either a Plasma or LCD will work just fine. Just remember if you’re watching your movies or sports with the lights on then the LCD TV is usually better with less reflections. In dark rooms Plasmas look very sharp though.

Home Theater Projector – For ultimate home theatre designs you’ll probably use a nice home theatre projector. Make sure they can be ceiling mounted and that you have enough space to have an adequate sized picture on your wall or movie screen and that the image quality is the best. Many home theater projectors have great images when your screen size not so big, but if you want say upwards of 6 feet wide then make sure you’ll get a sharp image and good contrast ratio..

Home Theatre Screen – This may be important, if you don’t have a nice clean surface to project your movies onto then you need a nice movie theater projector screen. One that automatically goes up and down by remote is a good choice so you can put it up when not in use..

Surround Sound – Remember for a great movie theater effect you’ll need surround sound. That is a given, although many pass up this option. It’s always best to get at least a middle of the ground quality surround sound system. You need front and rear speakers at least for the full effect to start to kick in. Of course having middle, left and right speakers also will really engage you in the action on the screen.

Popcorn Stand – OK this may not have been what you’ve been thinking of but they’re great additions. A replica antique popcorn popper stand would look great in a corner especially if you get use out of it. Plus the smell of popcorn is perfect for movie night.

Posters and Pictures – Hanging some posters of famous movies or autographed pictures of famous actors and actresses is a fun idea to give your room some added movie atmosphere.

Don’t forget about the flooring. You may want stain resistant flooring; after all you’ll be watching movies in there with food and drinks most likely. Things will get spilled. Find carpet that is lively and fun.

There are many other ideas to consider but these ideas included in Home Theatre Designs will help make your room a great room to hang out and relax in. And always remember to make it your space whether big or small, make it cozy and comfortable, not cold. You want everyone to enjoy the room and not feel as if they can’t relax and have a fun movie viewing experience.
