Balderdash The Game Is Family Fun

The Balderdash Board Game is a really fun family board game. It’s sort of a bluffing word game and it makes not only for great fun and laugh out loud answers but also the younger players can learn some new words in a fun learning atmosphere.

And the game play is fairly simple too. Basically one player chooses a “definition card” that has a word and definition on it. That person writes the answer down on a piece of paper. The other players in the game don’t know the answer to the word but try to write the real definition if they know it on their paper. Or they can write a totally false definition and there’s good reason to do that also.

You’d want to write a false answer if you don’t know the real answer because you can score points if someone chooses your answer as the correct answer.

Basically everyone writes down their own definition to the word selected. Only the player who selected the word writes the real answer down. Now if you know the answer you can write the real definition down and if you’re correct you get points. If you write a false definition down you can score points for that too. Because when the original player reads off all the possible answers to the chosen word each other player gets to choose which one they think is the real answer. If they choose a “false answer” written by you then you get a point. So you need to be creative and convincing when coming up with your own definition for a word because you want people to choose your definition.
